Michael Berger is the Assistant Director of PennTAP. His role is to provide direction and support to the senior technical specialists servicing businesses in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth.

Before coming on board, Berger was Director of Entrepreneurial Technology Partnerships at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, VA, where he developed collaborative projects leveraging the University’s intellectual and technical resources with the critical needs of diverse organizations. Major relationships included a distance learning alliance with Sentara HealthCare for regional e-delivery of its School of Health Professions nursing curriculum.

Berger has also held senior management positions at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor within its Information Technology Division. Key roles were project leader of the University’s Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) initiative responsible for developing a proof-of-concept repository for enterprise wide deployment, operationally launched as ‘BlueStream’®. He was also Co-Project Investigator on numerous federal grant projects for the EPA and DOE.

Berger holds Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Eastern Michigan University in addition to being a small business consultant through his own company.
